Journey

The day did not start well: taxi - booked with the same company I have used for years - failed to arrive. Kid A got an Uber sorted (I’ve never used it - never needed to) and the driver quickly grasped the situation and took every shortcut to get us to Waverley station with a couple of minutes before the train left. Running through a station carrying large heavy bags is no fun. But we made it. Not an auspicious start.
However, from there it was plain sailing all the way to Kings Cross.
A short journey across town and we were at his new home for the year. Kinda strange for him to be back in student halls, but the location and price are unbeatable: the photo in front of Tower Bridge is two minutes from his door. And then we went shopping for all the things we couldn’t carry down.

A long tiring day, finished off with a meal and a couple of pints in his new local pub.
