Playtime in the Allan Water

Early evening and children, and dogs are still playing in the Allan Water while families' picnic on the nearby bank in Bridge-of-Allan.

The river is a magnet in the heat wave with people attracted not only to the river but also to the nearby Allan Water café with its famous ice cream and fish and chips.

All this activity results in congestion in our wee town and for the first time ever I spot a policeman walking the streets.

It was such a novelty I had to stop and chat to him.

"You are not checking up on the yellow lines are you?"
"Yes I am."

"Oh dear! I am parked on them."

I make a quick getaway.
