The accidental finding

Extract from Posies and Produce jigsaw

This one has 500 pieces, extra-large (designed for older people who struggle with standard size pieces because of problems with fine motor skills or their eyesight). I did the outside edge yesterday, but didn't enjoy it. Today, by moving the board up to the bedroom and working partly on a table, partly in bed when I got too tired, I managed to finish it over the course of many hours. I listened to podcasts as I worked on it. When I started feeling really rough, I took some combined paracetamol and decobgestants tablets, which helped.

I must say that finishing the jigsaw didn't really give me any pleasure. I've definitely lost my mojo. Usually I love  the challenge of jigsaws, usually done while I'm watching TV.

I've cancelled a planned walk that was supposed to be happening tomorrow. One of my feet is alternately painful and numb, but that's not the real reason. I just think I'd be rather dull company for anyone who hasn't spent the past twelve days indoors.

Best thing about today: listening to Tracks of my Years on BBC Sounds. The guest was Leo Sayer. He had an uncanny knack of being in the right place at the right time. If you don't know what I mean, take a listen!
