The Carnac Stones
According to Wikipedia, the stones at Carnac consist of "an exceptionally dense collection of megalithic sites near the south coast of Brittany in northwestern France, consisting of stone alignments (rows), dolmens (stone tombs), tumuli (burial mounds) and single menhirs (standing stones)."
The Minx had suggested a while back that we go and see them while we were in France, although I almost soured the proposal with my complaint that the stones weren't in a circle. In my defence, at that point I hadn't realised there were three thousand of them.
Not that it's possible from the ground to really appreciate that number or how they're laid out, although it was still impressive to stand amongst them and to try and imagine the both the activity that put them there and how long ago it was (about six thousand years).
I will also mention how good the visitor centre was if you're thinking of going along.
