Leicester Market ladies

Of long ago. This lovely old photo is standing in front of what’s left of the big covered market that we used to have. We went into Leicester today and I took some photos of the huge empty site that used to be Leicester’s extensive market. Now there are just a few fruit and veg stalls and a couple of other ones selling underwear and shopping bags, and it’s been moved to a much smaller ‘temporary’ site. I think most people know the big market won’t be coming back as the Council seems to have other plans for it. Such a shame.
