Woodpecker

This woodpecker came to my rescue just as I was about to blip something else far less interesting. It was enjoying a drink and had been chirping away before that to another woodpecker, so I'm not sure if this is the parent or the baby!

Very sad to hear that Dame Maggie Smith died today.  She was a great actress and always a joy to watch - from being Miss Brodie to the Dowager Countess of Grantham in Downton Abbey.  She was literally "la creme de la creme"  as Miss Brodie would have said.
