The Guardian

After an early morning haircut, and a few hours free, I drove to The Welsh Valleys (South Wales, UK) to take some film photo's. Driving into Abertillery I spotted the 'Guardian of The Valleys' statue from an angle I haven't seen before as I've taken a few photo's over the years and even an aerial video that was professionally edited.

The Guardian is the same size as The Angel of the North but isn't as well known. Personally, I think it should have been put on the roundabout at Aberbeeg as you enter Six Bells, Abertillery as it's not easy to locate on the old colliery site! It's an excellent statue or art work and would have made more of a statement.
