Chasing My Own Tail
An even later evening walk tonight as I was waiting for Mrs C to bring the car home so I could go out. Last night I'd noticed Arlo's tuggy was missing from the treat belt, so my intention was to retrace my steps from Wednesday night's walk. I had a slight recollection that it had got wet and as I retraced I remembered where Arlo had dropped it in the river as he had a drink, then couldn't find it despite being right under his nose, he did pick it up. I remember I was slapping it against the bridge to get rid of water, so it must have been between there and the car.
But a walk was to be had, so we walked on and ended up at the plateau, a regular place to have a seat, and found some time in my tuggy recollection thoughts to blip some leaves covering my torch, then headed back. So I retraced where I was at the start of Wednesday's walk and remembered I had it attached to the lead to save me getting wet but as we got close to the car removed it to put his lead fully on. It wasn't there or on the route to the car, but I remembered the car had been parked further up the road so put Arlo in the car. I have to say at this point, I was particularly chuffed my memory was recollecting so much as things came back to me. I closed Arlo's crate and went to put my walking stick in the car... wait.. I don't have my walking stick, OMG.... I put it down to take the blip.
So we both traipsed all the way back, at the furthest point of the walk, and there it was, right beside this pile of leaves. So all the way back to the car, Arlo in... walked to the front of the car and there was the tuggy, and I now remember there was a rush to get Arlo in the car. on Wednesday so must haver dropped it at that point.
So walk completed, lots remembered, some forgotten then remembered, good training for the years ahead!
