Poorly cherry

Unlike yesterday's splendid cherry our tree is looking decidedly unwell. 
It is very leggy so may recover if it's trimmed but research on Google hints that the tree may just be old. Apparently they only live about 40 years. We planted this not long after we moved 39 years ago  so it may be  just dying of old age. 

We'll cross our fingers and see how it is next spring
