When is a pineapple not a pineapple?

When it's a tomato!

The huge yellow fruit are called 'Ananas tomato's'. Not translated from the French as 'banana', but as pineapple.

I have absolutely no idea why.

They don't look, taste or have the texture of pineapple.

They taste a bit like beefsteak tomatoes but with denser flesh and fewer seeds.
