A Close Shave
Two washes done first thing and hung up outside to dry. I was volunteering at Spout Hills this morning. It was a shorter session as they’ve only just started mowing with a small petrol mower the wetter areas with lots of streamlets, so there wasn’t much long cut grass to rake up. Still, 75 mins of raking with a long rake with a metre wide head was very tiring! This frog had a very close shave as it must have just missed being raked up, or even worse being impaled when I threw the rake head out! I encouraged it to move towards the stream. As I had lunch and a sit down I watched the wonderful film One Life about the rescue of hundreds of children from Czechoslovakia just before WWII broke out. Definitely worth watching if you haven’t seen it. Then I finished replacing the edging in the side garden, which was also hard work. So now I’m off for a hot bath with some muscle soak before settling down to watch Strictly.
