Baby

American goldfinches are one of the last songbirds to lay eggs, so seeing this fledgling today, near the end of September, isn’t unusual • Baby waited in the lilacs while parent filled up at the feeder. Baby was excited for attention and food, and happily received both :) • MrsP and I picked a few more gourds and another container of tomatoes; we also pulled the sunflowers and cardinal vine. I left the sunflower heads outside to dry but I expect the squirrels and deer to find them soon. Yesterday’s dwarf lilac and ornamental grass transplants were also watered, all are doing well • Happy Weekend, All! • Peace & Love
