Grasshopper Weathervane

We were given a grasshopper weathervane by a dear friend when we bought our first house back in 1992.
Our friend grew up in New England where grasshopper weathervanes are something of a tradition.
Our first house was in Lander, Wyoming where grasshopper weathervanes are far less common (non-existent).
Of course,  when we moved to Eugene, 12 years ago, we put it up on our back fence.
The camilia tree nearby has grown up a lot, such that the grasshopper was engulfed.
I moved it today so it could breathe deeply and swivel freely as the wind blows.
Our dear friend passed away last year.
I very much enjoyed spending some time with him and the grasshopper today.
