Pancake weather

Stormy weather around since yesterday - but I loved every moment of it!

At first we woke up yesterday morning to howling wind which blew at storm strength for almost the whole of the day. We had bergwind conditions which meant fairly hot temperatures, about 27 degrees, and the washing was dry in no time. Last week we were freezing, but this week we almost plummeted back into summer!

This morning we woke to the lovely soft drizzle of rain which meant one thing: pancakes! Later this afternoon we went over to Cecile and Heinrich (on invitation) armed with freshly baked pancakes, mince and tuna filling, grated cheese and cinnamon sugar.
Cecile made a delicious french salad and poured us some wine. We had an early dinner and the company was excellent.

Before indulging, we popped over to their building site to see how the new home was coming on.
It was quite surprising to see how much work could be done in the space of just one week. It is hoped that the building will be finished by November, December, but at the rate the builders are working, I will not be surprised if they finish ahead of schedule.

I had a surprise when Johann gave me a set of Extension Tubes for the Sony 200 .... this now means that I will really have to pull up my socks and start showing!

This image was taken late this afternoon at the building site with clouds moving in from Cape Town's side: who knows, there might still be some more rain on the way!
