Changing of the Guard

The sunflower show is coming to an end. However, every time I firmly decide to pull the plants out, a flock of tiny birds comes in to feed and I have to postpone to another week. The tomatoes and cukes are definitely finished, the brave zucchini still puts out an offering every other day, string beans are hanging on in spite of the cool nights. You can feel the change in the air.
