Agios Nikolaos

Day trip out to a town about an hour's drive away called Agios Nikolaos! All 6 of us piled in to the Scooby Wagon and we'd set off by the late morning. We got to see some awesome views of the Cretian countryside and the mountains as we drove (when we weren't napping in the back of the van).

We found a great little open-sided restaurant right on the beachfront for lunch, where we were treated yet again to views of the crystal clear water with the sea breeze cooling us down. Beautiful food, beautiful local Cretian beer, and possibly the happiest waiter in the world!

With the sun blazing down on us, we had a little wander around the town afterward where there were some quaint little streets and some little shops.
The drive back was yet again half scenery-appreciation and half-napping. There's something about that van, it's just so damn comfy!

After dinner, we headed back down to the beach bar, and got settled in to some comfy seats to watch yet another incredible sunset. The sky at sunset here is stunning- the shades if colours change from a deep purple-y colour nearest the sea to orange-y then to pink-y and finally to the light blue of the sky above.
