My next door neighbour has some new chickens.

This is George- yes it's a girl- she is 16 weeks old and lays lovely brown eggs. 

The variety is called a gingernut ranger hen.
The breed was developed by crossing Rhode Island Reds with Light Sussex. This gives a very sociable and easy to handle hen.
