Running bling
With Panda Car being out of action, we cadged a lift off a friend to Sandringham. Luckily, she had space as she was only taking one other person. Other possibilities were pretty full up already. She was thanked with doughnuts.
There was a whole host of people from the village taking part in Run Sandringham 5k and 10k, mostly doing the 10k. I regretted my decision to sign up (as ever).
The Sandringham estate provides a lovely backdrop and a variety of surfaces to run on.
The run was easier than I thought it would be. I’m not saying it was easy, and I flagged at certain points, but the training I’ve been doing, despite slacking off the last couple of weeks, really helped.
I was glad to see the finish line. Mr Pandammonium had finished already (sub-fifty for the first time), and was cheering me on from the sidelines, along with some other friends. I thought there was nothing left, but I sprinted (by my standards) to the finish, achieving a new 10k personal best.
It’s great celebrating a successful race with friends – such a buzz. I was glad I’d signed up.
(The only photos I have of the event itself were taken by other people; see some of them in the extras.)
