Not so Silly ...

... Saturday.

When I was sitting out this morning photographing the birds, squirrels and chipmunks I saw an unusual bird in our neighbor's tree.

Upon further investigation ... and some pictures for a more positive ID ... I could see it was a lovely Palm Warbler.  This isn't the best picture as I really wished I had the 600mm lens on instead of the 300mm ... but I'm still okay with it.  I did have to crop the photo quite a bit.  

I'm still feeling a bit down after seeing all the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene in the South.  And we have decided that it just wouldn't be right for us to still go to Lake Lure for our vacation ... even if the roads were to open back up.  The locals don't really need tourists gawking at all the damage. What they need are volunteers to help clean up. And even though we would love to help out ... it just won't be possible.
