So Many Blessings To Count!
We gathered at FBC this morning to worship and praise God for all the multitude of blessings He has given us in this country. We were also grateful for the cooler weather and we thanked Him as we raised our voices in congregational song. After Chris gave the welcome, the choir, orchestra and all our talented accompanists presented an uplifting rendition of "New Name Written Down In Glory" with Julie C. handling the solo parts. The congregation sang a few more songs before Pastor Wes took us back into Ephesians reminding us of what God had already done for them and what He was doing to continue to get them ready for the good works He had already prepared for them to do to point people to Him so that they might know Him as the Way, the Truth and the Life and the only source of salvation. In today's sermon, he fleshed out the means of accomplishing the mission that God has for for His church and for each of us as believers, reminding us that no one person can do every bit of ministry that our broken world needs, We each have our part that God has given us to do and He will give us everything we need to accomplish His purpose. You may notice that Pastor Wes skipped a couple of verses, but he has promised to tie them in with next week's sermon........I am looking forward to that! One of my favorite blessings from today is the my wonderful husband and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary. I didn't get a picture of us into the collage as I had hoped to do, but I wanted to tell you about the blessing anyway......
