2000
I know it may seem silly to you, celebrating these arbitrary milestones, but as someone who struggles to stick with anything, making it to 2000 of anything is something of a mild achievement for me.
When I mentioned it in passing to the children, The Youngest immediately set to work to create the image above.
That the 2000 comes up on what was a fantastic day with not only my children, but also my niece and nephew makes it all the more pleasing. I was well prepped, and armed with another picnic, wellies, coats and scooters we all headed off in Big Blue. The extra was taken when we arrived at our destination and I realised what a horrible mistake I had made in volunteering to look after four children on my own.
We began our adventure hopping the mudflats at Bardea - which took me right back to my youth and time spent at my nan & grandad’s static caravan - and then made our way for a scoot along the prom at Grange over Sands. Guess what? It was sunny! Very quickly, I felt overdressed in the jumper and coat...
We all had a great time together and the children played brilliantly - moreover, my sister and brother in law enjoyed their Christmas present from me, which was a few hours to themselves devouring an afternoon tea at The Midland!
Everyone’s a winner, baby!
