The Crooked Tree

Today it rained, and rained, and rained. The school run took a while – at times the downpour was so heavy the wipers could not keep up, so traffic slowed to a crawl. I stopped briefly on the way back, on a winding unnamed road near Patrixbourne. There’s a crooked, gnarly, lone tree in a field next to the lane (I think it’s mostly dead) that resembles a claw grasping at the sky. I photographed this scene once before, back in early April… but now the autumn foliage cloaks the bushes and smaller trees. After that, back home to snuggle up in the warm with a hot coffee, and studiously avoid doing anything remotely productive.
