Short-eared Owl

Sunday was the last day of the ferry summer schedule, so the last day of Sunday early sailings. They aren't too early, either, being after 09:00am, so I took the opportunity to go over to the island of Sanday for a cycle around looking for autumn migrants. Nice day but very quiet for smaller birds. The general list included the owl, sparrowhawk, wigeon, pintail, bar-tailed godwits, sanderling, 5 grey heron, etc. Another of the owl as extra.
