Stump Cross Cavern
An extremely rainy day today. Mr YB were I thinking where we could go to where we wouldn't get wet and came up with the idea of going to Stump Cross Caverns which is just about 7 miles away from where we are staying. Excellent choice! They were discovered accidentally by miners mining for lead
65 steps to get down to them. We had to wear hard hats and crouch down quite a bit as the roof is not very high in some places. Then of course there were 65 steps to come back up! Lovely lunch in the cafe and a trip to a farm shop and then back to the cottage to stay dry and warm.
