Kellie Castle Gardens

A visit through to the East Neuk wouldn't be complete without a visit to Kellie Castle Walled Garden. The weather wasn't particularly warm or sunny but it was dry.

In Kellie Castle Garden there are 30 different varieties of apple growing. Of the 30 I have only heard of three ... James Grieve, Russet and Worcester Pearmain ..... all dessert apples. No labels on the trees so I have no idea what variety this bright red apple is.

Just as we were leaving and walking down the path to the gate I spotted the Red Admiral resting on the Sedum. I expect that will be the last butterfly sighting for 2024.
