For a first attempt at brioche, that was a winning entry in the Great Mimi Bake-Off. 
I regret telling her that her first try is much better than Nana's lifelong endeavour to produce a single edible brioche. 
I had completely forgotten than she had managed one eventually, thanks to Carmen's recipe (apparently Luca was a witness).  
However I vividly remember the (numerous) unsuccessful attempts in the 80s. 
And that particular afternoon (either a Wednesday, Saturday or Sunday), with an unusual amount of swearing, when she declared that that was f**** that, that there was no way she was going to waste any more time trying to make a f**** brioche, that it was the devil's f**** cake and that she f**** had to admit defeat. F*** it!
