Keeping watch
I was in London today for the first of four days of interviewing. I took the tube from Waterloo to St James's Park, as it was raining, but walked back. It's a walk that takes me past Westminster Abbey, across Parliament Square, over Westminster Bridge, along the Embankment, past the London Eye to the Royal Festival Hall. I had a quick look inside as I knew the bar area had been upgraded and thought I'd take a shufti before heading back from the river to Waterloo. Even on a dull, damp late September day, central London was full of tourists to whom these gulls were blissfully oblivious. They're quite a way in from the sea but the Thames is still tidal at this point so it's no surprise they head up the river where there are rich pickings.
