The Art of David
lovely first day of annual leave.
Down to Ayr and lunch with my ‘big sister’ Susan…my longest serving friend, we’ve been close for over 40 years. Then off to see her dad David, who for decades was convinced I’d marry at least one of daughters! (we all married others!).
His wife died earlier this year and he’s now settled into a genuinely warm, welcoming and friendly care home, which he really likes I’m glad to say.
He’s pictured here with some of his old cartoon doodles, which he used to submit in lieu of absence reports in his time as an art teacher. Unbeknownst to him the school office saved most, and chose some favourites to frame up as part of his retirement gift.
Staying away for a few nights R&R
