Kemble Station Water Tank

I thought I'd blip this piece of railway history today - the photo was taken while waiting for the train comprising the first leg of my journey home: I'm now safely back.

Kemble station opened in 1845 on the Swindon to Gloucester line and this large surviving water tank (with pumping machinery below) probably dates from 1882. It's now a Listed Building as of February 1986. 

For the benefit of railway history buffs who follow my blips, I can quote this information: "Rectangular cast iron tank of riveted sections supported on 6 tall round columns, X-braced in pairs, with curved brackets supporting iron beam pierced with vertical ovals. Tank covered in curved bitumenised roof. In centre are 2 boxed-in pipes with attached wheels to operate pumping machinery presumably originally housed in small adjoining wooden shed but interior of shed not accessible to check existence of machinery."

Seemingly at one stage it had a booster tank supported on top of it - I've come across an archive photo of it which I've added as an extra as it seems quite unusual!
