Youth Libraries Group conference. 
I took the day off - packing for both the conference and the walking holidays afterwards, as well as sorting out a few things before I go. Not to mention that three days at work, after having been signed off for four weeks was enough for me to lose the will ..
This year the YLG conference was in Glasgow and I wanted to support our local chair. It was also my chance to meet all my YLG friends from all over the UK. I made it to Glasgow for 6 pm and met Ferelith in the exhibition hall where all the publishers were setting up. I used to be the exhibition manager for YLG so knew many of the publishers there, but it was nice not to have to worry. Soon the reception started, with cocktails and people arrived - lots of them I hadn't seen for a while. I had a lovely evening!
