-3 and Counting
The current good weather in these northern isles is making it more difficult to know that I must pack up and get ready to leave. We had another magical swim in sunny waters this morning and I actually sat in the garden for a while this afternoon just ‘being’, trying to fix the scene in my brain so that I can recreate it once I’m home in the depths of winter.
In between these events I bussed through to Kirkwall for a civilised coffee and a look round the shops , Julia’s café here in Stromness being closed. I didn’t linger as WendyF Selkie was popping in for a cuppa and a blether.
Later this evening a very kind Selkie took me into Kirkwall to have my blocked ear vacuumed and lo and behold after parting with a fair few shekels, I have 3D hearing again. What a relief ! I have utmost sympathy for those people with hearing impairment, it is so isolating.
Driving back to Stromness after sunset we saw the landscape silhouetted against a clear darkening sky graduating from navy to red over to the west with ribbons of mist rising from some of the fields. Absolutely beautiful!
