Lantana

Hubby and I texted often during the night. He started at 10:35 pm and was still sending notes and pics at 8:00 am when I finally gave up with sleep. It is hard to keep track of the time difference between here and Greece. He just wants to “share the experience” from long distance. Today they went to the island of Patmos. I picked tons of grape tomatoes this morning and probably have twice as many still in the garden. I will go out again tomorrow. Renee will make salsa with them and the fresh sweet peppers I have. The weather is damp and overcast. I spent quite some time on the front porch. These lantana really stand out with the deep red celosia in the background. They are in the front garden where our well head is. I usually plant the pink ones but I like this contrast. My thoughts were with those affected by Helene and a friend of ours who had a heart transplant yesterday. We are eagerly awaiting any word from his family. I am sure they are waiting to see how his body accepts it. He is younger than us with a family. After breakfast and prayers, I actually caught up with all my blippers’ journals. If you did not hear from me today, it is because your journal was not on my page. That happens sometimes, folks simply disappear temporarily. Hubby and I agreed on how we can help the hurricane victims. I placed a grocery order with needed supplies. Our local Knights of Columbus are filling trucks to transport food and supplies. I will drop off my sister and our donations tomorrow. Otherwise it has been a quiet day. I watched the new activity in the Middle East, probably because hubby is just across the sea from Israel. Let there be peace on Earth! Renee furnished my dinner again so there will be minimal work later tonight. I am hoping for some Kindle time. Wishing you a bit of peace and quiet. Stay safe. Thanks for visiting. .“White flowers are the quiet beauty of nature.” – Unknown
