Tiny Tiles for Teachers

With a wet day  and admin to do, I've decided to share a very appropriate back blip from Berlin.

The Haus des Lehrers (literally teachers' house) was built between 1961 and 1964 in the north eastern part of Berlin, and it features a mosaic of some 800,000 tiny tiles around the whole building. So it's 7m high and 127m long!

It's a striking piece of work, each tiny piece fragile and insignificant on its own, but contributing to the dramatic impression when in concert with the others.

Thanks for hosting tiny Tuesday, freespiral.
