2024 Tuesday — Roadtrip Day
After 7-nights in SoCal, today was travel day and time to get home — north to the Central Coast. The warmer temperatures in SoCal have been uncomfortable, but not completely unbearable.
We’ve completed 5 medical/doctor appointments in SoCal. We have both met with an optometrist to get our vision checked and soon new eye-glasses. Mr. Fun met with his new cardiologist (the former cardiologist has moved to a Kaiser Medical facility closer to her home) and he also had an appointment with his nephrologist; both of those specialists were pleased with his progress and the readout that his lab results showed. I met with my ophthalmologist and also had a “field of vision” test. Glaucoma is in my family history so my specialist is watching that as well as checking for cataracts. He was pleased with my eye pressures and with the lack of growth of cataracts.
Mr. Fun & I enjoyed driving north on an autumn day, fog flirting with our fenders and the ocean playing peek-a-boo. That all meant cooler temperatures.
The city of Santa Barbara at 20 mph (see photo) was okay because James Taylor was singing October Road thru the speakers on the first day of October.
All of the ride from Southern California to California’s Central Coast looking thru the lenses of retirement was pleasant. Getting back home was more than wonderful.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!
