Folly For Mrs Macquarie

Mrs Macquarie’s seat, or chair, is at the end of the point on the right, but she apparently also had a folly built for her pleasure in the early days of the colony. This one is more recent, and features anti-colonial sentiments - native animal bones on the ceiling, Governor Macquarie’s fist holding a dagger as the finial, a barbed wire structure.

The artist is Fiona Hall.
