Findhorn Bay

The weather in Aberdeen turned decidedly cool today, about 15 degrees, Quite a drop compared to the temperatures to which we have been becoming accustomed. We decided to flee to a warmer climate

We headed North to Findhorn Bay, we had seen it is regatta week, and the weather forecast assured us it would be sunny. It was not wrong as regards the weather. we were able to enjoy summer once again and the temperature was about 25 degrees. The regatta turned out to be a bit of a damp squid.

We had a stroll across the dunes to the Moray Firth and back around to Findhorn Bay. Shortly after we had returned to the Bay the haar blew in, bottom photograph. It was amazing how suddenly it arrived, though it only remained about a quarter of an hour. What a change though while it lasted.

After the haar had cleared the temperature climbed once again, the other change was the wind dropped noticeably, and the breeze which remained was noticeably warmer than it had been before the haar.

After a lazy stop over at the Kimberly Inn we returned towards Aberdeen. It is about 75 miles from Aberdeen to Findhorn, but the roads are fairly good as long as there are not too many farm vehicles along the way.
