Farewell to Cefalu

Today was the long trudge home. We still had the morning in Cefalu, however, so there was time for a final wander for me (and a jog along the prom for Chris), just soaking up the sun and sights. The sea was beautifully calm today.

After packing up our stuff we walked up to the station and managed to miss the train by seconds - the doors were just closing as we reached it. All my fault as I didn’t listen to Chris’s instructions for the route and took us on a detour. We got the next train to Palermo and then to the airport, still in good time. The flight was a bit delayed so there was a lot of hanging around in queues, but we eventually took off on our flight to Pisa(!) - now we’re at Pisa airport too early to get through security, but time at least to put the Blip up. A late flight and all going well, we should be back in Edinburgh in the early hours of tomorrow morning where no doubt it will be freezing! Oh dear, warm sun and blue skies and seas will be so far away.

Extra - taking off from Palermo and arriving at Pisa.
