‘Last Day at Cefalù’
Our last day at Cefalù. I'm very sad to be leaving this beautiful place!
I managed to fit in an early morning jog around the harbour and along the prom and took several photos.
The main photo shows Cefalù Cathedral and the 270m high ‘La Rocca’, which dominates the city.
While the former dates from the1100s, La Rocca is a a Mesozoic-tertiary geological formation - over 100 million years old. It contains a number of megalithic artifacts, and many of the houses in old Cefalù were built with its stone.
As extras I've included a number of photo of Cefalù waking up, all take. Before 8.30 this morning.
(I should perhaps add that the ‘lavatorio’ is the medieval washhouse of Cefalù!)
