Briseuse Un Neuf?

As brilliant as the Cardos have been for communicating between bikes on our motorcycle adventures together, Ms.Arell & I have been discussing some "Wouldn't it be good if...?" 's. You know, little bits of extra functionality that we might benefit from.

The Cardos connect to our smartphones so hands free  phonecalls are possible but not the safest as it involves taking your mind off the road to do the "Hey <insert digital.assistant of choice>" side of things. Before choosing Cardo we had looked at headsets that could connect to those cheap 2 way walkie talkies but they were less waterproof and involved more hardwear so we looked at another option - mobile phone apps that mimic 2 way radios - in this case one called Zello.

Bluetooth Push To Talk buttons to strap to handlebars are available so we got some and got cracking, only to discover our phones didn't play nicely with them.

Darling Miss Clever Clogs managed to get hers working thankfully & gave me some things to try to fix mine but to not avail unfortunately. The button does work with a spare phone I sometimes use as a sat-nav though so am sort of up & running...yay!

Providing we have a phone signal we can now keep in touch regardless of distance and if riding somewhere with for example a family car in convoy, someone in the car can use the app on their phone to keep in touch easily. Result!

Anyway, after messing with all that for an hour after work, I left Ms.Arell a Zello voice message...CB lingo naturally spoken through the Cardo (picture your Gal in the living room wearing her PJs & motorcycle helmet as you do!) and in French for good measure, thanks to google translate ;-D
