Hot on hot

During Friday's bridal preparations I made sympathetic noises while hearing stories of the horrific stomach bug that had been ripping through the groom's family in the week leading up to the wedding, reaching a bridesmaid but fortunately not the bride. All the time, I was just thinking "please please please don't let me catch that bug..."

Just a few minutes after posting my blip during the meal at yesterday's wedding, I suddenly came down with stomach pains. Bad ones. I caught the bug. The rest of the evening was... challenging, and I was very glad that I had Colin there to cover me. But the show must go on and I don't think the bride noticed that I was disappearing a lot and looking more and more like death as the night progressed!

Today I'm still pretty sick so very glad that my afternoon meeting was cancelled. The hot water bottle is the only thing that can ease the stomach pains... not good in this heat!
