Calm down
As usual on a Monday we headed to hockey after tea. Anya was happily skipping in with a couple of friends but Max was clearly exhausted and had an outburst when the girls ran off together to share snacks. He threw his hockey stick and consequently gave himself and me a shock. His anger came from nowhere and he wasn’t sure how to deal with it.
I decided to take him home for some chill time and to discuss what had happened when he had calmed down.
He was feeling very guilty and remorseful but we had a lovely bedtime read together and put it all behind us for a fresh start tomorrow…
Juggling tiredness, changes at school and all the related emotions are tough when you are only six!
