TDE

Today is Reunification Day (Tag der Deutschen Einheit) here in Germany, so it is a public holiday.

It is also the one day in the year when German Parkruns can put on an extra event if they wish. Rheinpark Parkrun did. I was there.

For me it was an excuse to reward myself for completing 2 years of Parkruns (96 now). It also coincides with Parkrun celebrating 20 years since the first one.

We were blessed with a beautiful autumn morning for it, and on my 20 minute walk to the start I saw a squirrel (the wee black ones they have here), two rabbits and about 500 geese grazing in the park.

The organisers were rewarded with a record number of participants (224). I managed a personal best for the course, but I was so slow last time (just after I had Covid) that a PB was almost guaranteed.

The course is almost flat. I loved that.

My Blip and Extra are scenes from the start and finish area.
