A Terra Cotta

This is one of the Terra Cotta Warriors. ONE being the key word. There are thousands of them literally. This is the Qing Dynasty life size Terra Cotta warrior. The emperor had thousands of them made. They were made of a special clay only found in a certain area of China. Then the emperor was buried with his wives, concubines, advisors AND the creators of the tomb, and left for thousands of ears.

Wanna know the cool part? Every single of the Qing Dynasty Terra Cotta Warrios have an individual face, no two are the same. Isn't that cool? So crazy. So far they have uncovered 10 pits, three are open to the public. The first one is only about 3/4 renovated and the other three pits open to the public are barely renovated. I can only imagine what they will continue to uncover!
