Out of retirement
The friend’s clock which I had promised to look at, duly arrived last night. One of our ringers is engaged to Marco the electrician. He is Dutch and loves his Dutch Zandaam clock given to him by his grandmother. Like many clocks, it has great sentimental value. I said I would try to repair it if it is not too worn as I only have basic tools here and not the full workshop I had in the UK. I worked on it this morning. Fortunately, it only required a service so I was finished by lunchtime. If he offers anything for its repair, I will refuse and tell him it is a wedding present! It has been productive day. I made bread in the morning and wrote a talk for Remembrance Sunday. In the afternoon we had a team training session before our match on Sunday.
