Three weeks ago I wasn't even entered for this but an offer of a free place courtesy of the Shrewsbury Town Foundation was too good to turn down, even if it is the week before Chester marathon.

It's definitely a more compact course than last time I did this one, more than 10 years ago(?!) and was good despite the multiple hills -Porthill, Kennedy Road, Town Walls, Wyle Cop, Claremont Bank, The Quarry... and then back again. I was pretty pleased with the time too considering it was supposed to be a 'training run'. You'd think after all this time they'd have worked out the start but we were delayed by nearly half an hour while we waited for all the cars to get into the car park. There was a treat before the start though with Nicolette leading the warm up.
