Autumn Colour
I was up sharp (for me) this morning and headed down to Craigleith while it was quiet. At the last minute yesterday we invited our Curate for lunch so I needed to pick up some soup. We wanted to bend his ear about a few things so this seemed the best way to do it.
After lunch Ali came round with the girls. Josie had her flu vaccine today, delivered nasally, which she copied well with although it made her sneeze. At Ali's request I made a batch of cheese scones.
I had a fairly successful day for church today. I arranged for something to come and cut the hedges and for someone else to come and do some urgent external paintwork. He's coming on Sunday afternoon to look at all that needs to be done.
There minutes of last night's meeting arrived too, so I checked those.
After dinner I had a bit of a brainwave. The rectory garden jar been rather neglected, do I spotted the hedge cutter if he knew of anyone who might be interested in giving it a really good clear up. To my delight (and hidden hope I'll confess) he said that he would do it. He knows there is no rush for either job and that he can fit them in as and when. He is not expensive and I'm so relieved to find a solution so quickly.
I'm looking after Isobel tomorrow, she had a day off school today unwell. That really isn't like her. Her mum thinks it's just a virus and as a paediatrician I guess she should know, but she's feeling pretty sorry for herself.
My Blip is of the lovely Nerine in our garden, always a cheery splash of colour but not looking quite as good as previous years I don't think.
Thank you to Joan for them 25 years ago.
