Living my dream

By Mima

Rainforest life. With pear blossom.

It is still raining.

While we are not experiencing anything like as much as in Dunedin, where it is being reported that it is the highest rainfall for over a century (and a State of Emergency has been declared), it nevertheless feels quite rainforesty Chez Mima.

This is thanks to the air temperature being quite comfortable. The low pressure system causing the rainfall is sucking air down from around Tonga. While it's not exactly tropical down here, it is currently 14C and I have opened the window in the study to release some of the heat from the potbelly.

(I hardly need mention that Bean is prone in front of the stove. No blanket required.)

At last I have sorted the humungous pile of fabric that was all over the table. I now have three new piles: one of scraps to chuck out; one of sheets and clothes to go to the Opp Shop; and a third of things to keep.

The latter is satisfyingly the smallest pile and it fits neatly into one drawer. It feels good to rid myself of so much unnecessary 'stuff'.

I have yet to decide whether I will be persuading Bean to venture out into The Weather for a walk.

She is telling me not to bother...
