Electric blue

This is a artichoke flower from our garden. My wife planted a couple of plants this year. They are basically giant thistles and quite big and structural. Oddly, the flower buds are a faff to eat after cooking but do taste very nice. This flower was allowed to open and hasn't been eaten - it's quite pretty and an unusual shade of blue.
