Outer Limits

Those above a certain age will recall the very scary US sci-fi series 'Outer Limits' with its spooky soundtrack.  I wonder how lame it would sound today?  One of the episodes (forgive me if I've mentioned it before) took place entirely in thick mist and involved alien abduction of a whole neighbourhood.  It gave me nightmares for a long time as a child!  When I pulled back the curtains this morning, the mist was rolling along the beck and then slowly worked its way outwards to cover the village below.  I took a walk up to the end of our street to see if I could get a longer blip over the top of the mist but the trees have grown too high to do that particular shot any more.

The remainder of what has been a long standing up day, was given over to making and filling celebratory cakes for Parkrun's 20th Anniversary tomorrow.  Our Parkrun master bakers being away in Vietnam, I quickly ordered some silicon number moulds and Tony and I had a trial go yesterday, which told us we needed more mixture.  Today's #2 cake is more substantial but has a bit of a lean which is probably down to our kitchen!  The zero is more satisfying.  Having made the mould order it occurred to me that it is also D's 250th Parkrun tomorrow, wot no #5!?  I shall have to make a flapjack/brownie #5 with the mini bites I picked up from the Coop yesterday and somehow squeeze it in the middle.

Phew!  After a broken night having to lie on my back due to vaccinations, I am glad to sit down.  I'm hoping that rattling around in the kitchen is Tony preparing dinner......
