Quod oculus meus videt

Loch Maree

Firstly, many thanks for all of the interest during our recent trip to Scotland. We have been incredibly lucky with the weather. Even today, while forecast as rain for most of it, has turned into a lovely, if windy day.

I popped out first thing in search of a shot and found myself at Slattadale, on the shores of Loch Maree. It was predominantly cloudy, but with some interest in the sky. The chop in the water was smoothed by the long exposure. After breakfast we headed towards Ullapool, stopping at Inverewe Gardens, which was very impressive.

Lunch was taken at Mellon Udrigle, a lovely beach looking across Gruinard Bay towards Assynt. With the sun out it was hard to believe we were so far north (see extra). We’re now in Ullapool before starting our trip back home over the weekend.
